How to Fight Back: A Virtual Leadership Assembly

August 26, 2020 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

COVID-19 has brought to light what we already know – without our work, our state can’t function. We don’t just educate the next generation of learners, we provide essential services on a daily basis like food, mental health services and a place where every child is valued.

If we can confront historic inequities along race and class lines, all educators – black, brown, indigenous, white – can come together in action to unify educators, parents and our communities to respond to COVID-19 and build the movement beyond it to fully fund public education.

Our solidarity is especially needed right now to support our education support professionals. Many hourly staff are reporting to worksites and experiencing heightened risk of exposure. We want to make sure they are paid throughout the duration of the COVID-19 crisis.

The meeting will include:

–              Standing up for hourly workers and education support professionals

–              Educator perspectives on resilience and adaptation

–              Partnership with the community in the time of COVID

–              Action steps to unify your co-workers

Your voice and experience will be an essential part of the conversation. RSVP now!
